Weird display of desktop

Just wanted to reply to OP that the exact thing happened to me IIRC right after updating to build 19041.423. I’ve tried to fix it several ways from sfc /scannow to changing the scaling settings. I’m a little relived to see it’s not just me — was starting to think malware. I’ll check out the WinAero Tweaker everyone recommended.

Not only are icons on top of each other, I can drag any to the bottom-third of the desktop. There’s other visual bugs in various menus (control panel, internet options) with the padding around icons as well.

Fixed it the same way with the winaero registry edit. My vertical & horizontal were both -4500. I believe this to be either a Win10 or nvidia bug. Glad I found this thread, thanks all!

Glad it worked. Some weird combination of settings could cause this. Some extra work for WinAero Tweaker
