What are these NVidia Fies?

The log files shown below are created in my Program Data folder. If you try to delete the file you get the error shown. What are these file for and why are they dumped in the top level Program data folder?

If you go to C:\Program Files\NvidiaCorporation\Installer2 and delete all the files in that folder then some of the one you have in Program Data will be gone and it will save you space. You can also delete the Installer2.bak.

Those are telemetry files, I have 8 in my Program Data top level, 4 logs and 4 corresponding backups, however if I choose delete they go. They come back on restart of the system. Deleting the installer 2 folder will not stop those files being created, it will free up disk space though (few 100Mbs) but you will not be able to use control panel to uninstall Nvidia drivers and/ or software since the installer 2 folder holds updated drivers and files and points control panel there.

There are apps at Guru3d.com to stop Telemetry and more space is saved from removing the content of Installer2 than a few hundred Mb.s.

I don't have as many as you, but maybe a fresh install from NVCleanstall might fix this.

Not NVCleaninstall, NVCleanstall. Don't want you to end up with the wrong program. They put a clever spin on the name so that the word "Clean" and "Install" run together.

I just used NVCleanstall and was impressed how easy it was to avoid installing all the NV bloatware. I used to disable unwanted functions in Autoruns but now it doesn't appear at all. I also deleted over 1 GB of files from the Installer2 folder.
