How do I disable the dedicated GPU

    My machine has both an APU (as the CPU) and a dedicated GPU.

    Once I rebooted, the laptop used the integrated Intel chip which I think also showed up in Device Manager under 'Display adapters'.
    It (seems to have) worked!

    TechPowerUp GPU-Z is showing fewer details about the dedicated GPU. I played Half-Life for the same amount of time as last time and my machine did not shut down. Also interestingly, the game ran consistently at over twice the frame rate as with dedicated GPU enabled on one map and consistently at around twice the framerate as with the dedicated GPU on another...
