Not sure if this is the correct forum - but here goes:
I connected my PC to my TV with an HDMI cable. The only problem is that, on the TV, I lose approximately one row and one column of icons (left, top, right & bottom sides). Is there a way to correct this? Thank you......
Yes.....right click a free area of the desktop and select display settings. Then make sure the resolution is set up correctly. If a UHD TV set default rez for that....and so on. Depending on the age of the TV the rez may be lower then native.
This is a known issue with TV screens, when used as Monitors, they use something called over-scan, (or Under-scan, I get them mixed up), to ensure that the TV signal fills the screen.
Depending on your Graphics system you have in the system you may be able to adjust the image geometry to properly fill the screen.
This is not normally something available on the Built-in graphics but often available on Higher end Graphics cards. Check with your Graphics card How To or other help
Basically it's the overscan used in TVs in TV mode, however, most of them have settings for PC inputs to say the HDMI in which case they should be OK assuming you do the right settings and restart the TV.
Not all TVs are particularly good in this respect.
Graphics Cards generally only output video in standard modes to suit Monitors.
