nVidia folder being created at c:\ after every reboot

Starting yesterday an empty folder C:\nVidia Corporation\umdlogs gets created every time I start my computer.

The driver version is 441.87 which was installed on 9th February. nVidia drivers no longer show in programs and features (only physx shows). I do not install geforce experience.

Reinstalling the drivers doesn't fix the problem.

How do I stop this folder creation?

Download and run the free Nirsoft utility DriverView -

    https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

In DriverView, click on View in the Toolbar and select Hide Microsoft Drivers.

    Then Edit > Select All

    File > Save Selected Items.

Enter a name for the text file and save it to your Desktop.

Upload it and post in the thread.

Download Display Driver Uninstaller, and follow the instructions in this article -

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.2.5

According to this post by the DDU author, the ability to remove that was included in version 18.0.2.

I have problems deleting the folder. It just gets recreated every restart. So I assume you're saying that DDU has an option to disable the creation of that folder?

Ok, will do. I have a couple of things running which will take a couple of hours, but once done, I'll do as you suggest.

Interestingly, of the 10 PCs here, all of which are running the same driver version, only mine has this folder being created.

According to the post in the thread link above, the author stated that part of the changelog for DDU version 18.02 was -

    - Removal of C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\umdlog
    - Removal of nvabhub

It was in response to the poster complaining that "Additional NVIDIA cleanup" was too generic.

Yes, I read that, but I've not used DDU in a long time, certainly not in the last 24 hours. Nor have I updated the drivers since Feb.
So, I'm not sure what you're driving at. DDU is not creating the folder, the nVidia software is. Anyway, I'll uninstall with DDU and reinstall and see what happens.

I'm driving at what the author of DDU said in his post...that part of the updated functionality for DDU 18.02 was removal of C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\umdlog

Follow his instructions posted above on what to do and when.

    Best I can do.

Ran DDU and uninstalled drivers. Rebooted. Rinse and repeat.
From that point on I could no longer install ANY nVidia drivers.
Had to restore PC from an image
