I'm a Radeon fan so there you go.
The MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio (long name ) is probably one of the most silent and consistent GPU out there at that tier. It should be more expensive than a RX 5700 XT, but I would easily choose it over the 5700XT because of that, and it's future-proofed for DX12U and has hardware accelerated ray tracing. If you don't care about that stuff, the RTX card is slightly faster (around 4-7%) than the RX card at 1440p gaming performance. But AMD offers better value though as it should be cheaper.
nVidia always.

To be fair, AMD has better GPUs for budget and maybe mid level.
Who buys mid level, though.
Bigger people buys mid-range GPUs? What statistic is that from? Or did I completely misread you.
Well anyway. You can't really go wrong with either cards here for performance, but the premium you're paying for the RTX card is going towards RT & Tensor cores and DX12U features. You could wait until the new AMD cards comes out in Q3-Q4 if you really want a AMD card that will last you somewhat through Gen.9. Buying a non-RTX card now when Gen 9 is around the corner seems like a bad deal to me, but that's just my opinion though.
I've preferred nVidia's drivers in the past. (Haven't tried an AMD card recently.)
The Radeon is a better deal. The 2070 appears to have slightly better performance. UserBenchmark: AMD RX 5700-XT vs Nvidia RTX 2070S (Super)
Doesn't look like either choice is a bad one.
