Well anyway. You can't really go wrong with either cards here for performance, but the premium you're paying for the RTX card is going towards RT & Tensor cores and DX12U features. You could wait until the new AMD cards comes out in Q3-Q4 if you really want a AMD card that will last you somewhat through Gen.9. Buying a non-RTX card now when Gen 9 is around the corner seems like a bad deal to me, but that's just my opinion though.

I just recently got into PCs so I don't know how simple it was before, but it's true that there are many tiers and classes within the GPU market. I don't think the world actually have a proper classification system, but now there's like X's, XT's, Titans, Ti's, Supers next to the numerical system. For me, anything that's over $500 MSRP is considered high-end, even if it may not be true. So something like this is how I do classes:

$100-299 - Low tier
$300-499 - mid tier
$500-799 - high tier
$800-xxx - enthusiast

I just believe in:

• Entry level
• Mid range
• High end
