    Doubts about nvidia's new driver.

The new Nvidia driver is here, but I have some doubts that I would like to be clarified:1. Is it valid for Windows 10 1909 version or is it only for 2004?2. Why doesn't Windows Update offer it?3. Would it be valid for my card, a Gigabyte GeForce GT 1030 graphics card?4. Is it worth installing from the Nvidia website or, since I'm not a "gamer", isn't it so necessary to install it?Thank you all for your support.

    Windows version: 10, 1909 (comp. ...900) x64.

    1. Read the notes provided by Nvidia. You input that info when searching for a driver.

    2. "Why doesn't Windows Update offer it?"
It is not necessary to keep updating Graphics Card drivers, about once per year is enough for someone who plays old games, or a non gamer.

    3. Read the notes provided by Nvidia. You input the Graphics Card details when searching/downloading an Nvidia driver so you get relevent results.

    4. Windows updates takes care of it in your scenario.

Nvidia do issue drivers maybe 12 times per year but this is basically for the latest expensive Graphics Cards and latest Games, again read the Nvidia notes which detail such things.

    Heya Enrique.

    1) It's valid for Windows 10 64-bit - both 1909 and 2004 / Windows 8.1 / Windows 8 / Windows 7. But in order to fully utilize the new features - like GPU scheduling - with a GTX 10, 16 or RTX 20 series Nvidia graphics card you'll need both Windows 10 May 2020 Update and the new driver.

    2) Nvidia drivers can be automatically downloaded through Geforce Experience or manually downloaded on their website. Windows Update is not up-to-date and will not be on the latest drivers most of the time, although they may be offered sometime in the future to provide proper support on compatible systems. I'm not sure how Windows Update seeks new drivers exactly.

    3) The 1030 seems to be a Pascal card, and will support some features on this driver, but not DX12 Ultimate which is mostly for RTX-capable cards.

    4) While this driver is Game-centric, you can update when you feel like the driver is beneficial for you, e.g the release notes on both open and fixed issues: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Window...ease-notes.pdf. But don't update just to update. If it's not broken don't fix it.
