Anyone else having problems after upgrading to 4K Monitors

I've tried everything I can think of but even using settings-Ease of Access and using scaling and fonts szes I am regretting buying 4K monitors. Sure they are great for youtube but for general pc use everything is either too big or way too small.

If anyone else has had these problems and found a fix I would sure appreciate some help. For example some programs won't adjust at all I have used Clipmate for as long as it has been around and now I have to find another clipboard manager. That is just one issue I have issues with everything.

HELP!!!!!!! Please

This is why I'm not an "early adopter". There are always problems with new tech. And the prices are high.
I'd rather let others be victim. I prefer to wait for better results from the second generation of product. Get more. Pay less.

Is it too late to return these monitors for a refund?

Have you checked your GPU that it supports 4K? Also check your cable that your using. Most will require a DP cable for max rez.

Yes it does, a lot more than the monitor does so that isn't the issue

Looking at your GPU specs....check cable specs.....HDMI is 2.0 and DP is 1.4.

I have checked them, I'm not trying to get resolution that high. My problem is the monitors I bought Recommended resolution is 3840X2160 which my GPU can handle and the HDMI and Mini DP can handle. The problem is if I change the resolution to make things bigger the display doesn't fit the monitor there is a border of black. I've tried using scaling and font sizing and am using that for now but there has to be a way to make my desktop readable without sitting on them.

I bought these monitors to get more desktop so I could make things bigger and easier to read.. Not happening

What resolution are you trying?

If you go to a 16:9 ratio (like 1920 X 1080), it should fill the monitor, without black bars.

Sort of a waste of a UHD monitor, though. Maybe you should have bought large monitors with a lower native resolution.

I have been using a UHD monitor for a while. I have been able to get things configured for adequate readibility. There are exceptions: the menus in Photoshop CS6 (last version that isn't a rental) are too small.

Yes at this point it was a waste of $700+ on 2 4K monitors but I am not giving up yet. There has to be a way to make adjustments so things work well. I really appreciate everyone trying to help me but with all due respect, please don't reply to this thread unless you are in the same situation and have found a fix for it. It's frustrating to waste money and not get results and even more frustrating when people who are trying to help just guess and throw out basic adjustments. If you have a 4K monitor and have these problems lets try to help each other.

***UPDATE****
I decided to take the 4K monitors off my system and put my regular HD monitors back on. After putting them back on I thought my icons would go back to how they were on these monitors prior to changing to the 4K monitors. No suck luck, the icons now are show far apart it is crazy and wasting a lot of desktop. There use to be a settings in windows 10 where you could to to display>appearance and there was a setting to adjust the spacing between desktop icons but in my Windows version 1903 there is no settings or they are hidden somewhere else???

I will most likely sell the 4K monitors and keep my HD monitors since I can see things much better now but I still have a few issues with icon spacing that I never had before switching tot he 4K monitors.

Does anyone know if there is a setting to adjust icons spacing besides ctrl and mouse wheel to change size and spacing, Tried that and they are still spaced too far apart for my liking

The main adjustment I made on my 27" and 28" UHD monitors was in the "display" area of the "System" settings. The scale was set to 150%, which may have been the default.

From your first post, I assumed that you'd already done that.

It works fine for most things, but there are programs which aren't helped by it (like Photoshop CS6). If the authors of the programs don't release a new version that properly supports UHD monitors, there may not be a solution that will satisfy you.
