    Can't install Nvidia driver after reset.

    Hey guys,

    So i recently had to reformat my pc back to Base Windows 10. I've been trying to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 since my laptop doesn't have any of these installed anymore, but when I click the .exe nothing happens. At the same time, if I try to install an Nvidia driver, it says "dynamic link library dll initialization failed" and doesn't install it. Are these things related? Do I have to update my Windows 10 to the newest version?

    Not sure if related.

    What version did you install, 1903, 1909?

    Right click start, click run, type winver, enter.

    Could you please run sfc /scannow

    at either a command prompt(admin) or powershell(admin)

    Does it run clean? If not it may take up to three scans to fix. If after the third scan is still has errors then you need a more in depth repair.

    Are you installing Visual C redistributable from here? (Correct bitness)

    As to nvidia, I would run DDU and try again.

    Of course if SFC finds and fixes things then maybe what you are doing will start to work.

    @caledon Ren

    My build is 19041? I think
    I've tried installing updates but it keeps coming up with an 0x80070570 error.
    I then tried manually installing the updates by using the Update catalogue, but that fails to install too.

    I've also tried the sfc /scannow but after 4% it comes up with an error and says "Windows Resource Protection could not Perform the Requested Operation" which was the same error I got before I reset my PC.

    And yeah I'm running that C++ link, but I'll try that NVidia one too!

    Well stating the obvious you've got problems.

    In my post I outlined how to get the version build number using Winver.

    Please provide info.

    Is all you personal data backed up and is safely off machine?

    @Caledon Ken

    I did that and I said my build version is 19041.264 (which I assume is very old since I factory reset it).

    Yep my important documents are all saved on a hard drive or on Onedrive

    Nope you are on a very new version, V2004 although some maintenance has not been applied.

    Could you please check for updates and bring maintenance up to current level. I suggest this as V2004 is really new and does have some glitches.

    May I ask, did you "Check for Updates" and see a box where it told you there was a new version of Windows you could down load?

    Say two weeks ago.
