Using TV as 2nd display for laptop ONLY, changes scaling/ size?

Right now i have my screen mirrored, when i do 2nd display only the start menu and everything gets bigger and when i go to the display settings none of the scaling options are available, my default is 250% and i set a custom scale to 250% so that the screen remains the same when i do 2nd display only

This affects a game i am playing xcom 2, there is an arrow in the options menu to return to the main menu and its pretty much not visible for me to click, the text on the right and left sides of the screen is also cut off because the screen is zoomed in the game

When i mirror the screen, this is not an issue

It's the TV....you have to change the setting on the TV either with the remote or buttons on the TV. Then I would use the extend feature instead of mirror.

Does the TV have an HDMI port? If so connect with HDMI and use the source option on the TV remote and point to the HDMI port you're connected to. It should replicate the computer screen.

I am using HDMI, its going to my receiver and then to the TV
I tried find an option on my tv to change the pic size but there was no option

When i do extend display, the same zoom issue occurs
