    New Video Card Temp Question

    Hi All

Purchased a NEW 1660 Super, EVGA 1660 Super SC Ultra Gaming card for my Asus G11CD-K Desktop machine, due to this being OEM case, i have to work with what i got for now, Temps so far while benchmarking max i got after 10 minutes was 78C, Max during gaming so far only up to 74C, In Secondlife video card temp 53C right now.

Good Temps or should i try to come up with money to invest in a newer case asap with better air flow and cooling

Then again Ambient temp a bit on the warm side in this room, but not too hot at the moment

While 70+ degrees is not horrendous it's also not great, the max allowable temp will be around 83 - 95 degrees depending on card variety (GPU, cooling solution etc).
Try running with the side off the case if you can, see if temps come down a bit when the system is stressed in a 3D app.
If there is room at the case front, install another fan, or move any existing fan up/ down so it blows directly onto the card.
The only real issue you may find is that as the cards temperature goes up the GPU clock will come down costing you a handful of FPS.
Lower temps would likely increase the lifetime of the card, although it may well be replaced long before temps would have an effect.

Well no room for front fan in the case unforuately, I got PSU Fan that sucks up and exhausts out the rear, bigger CPU Cooler, and Exhaust fan in the rear, about all i can fit

Full operational temp for this card seems to be 85c, so you're within limit. Stress testing should be done more than 10 minutes to reach a steady curve, but benchmarking will always do more than gaming in term of temperatures. Check the clock frequencies during testing for any throttling due to temps if you want to be fully sure though. But I wouldn't worry about this unless the fans goes crazy loud or something. Open-case tests sees a 10c reduction, but as long as you have some positive and negative air pressure inside the case, it should be Okey.

So far the fans are quiet from what i can tell, but headphones on for the moment. Old Card was a Geforce 1050 2Gb Single Fan, First dual fan card ever owned, so wasn't sure what is proper and what isn't at the start, but so far seems to be working fine thus far. Is a big side vent on Case directly next to video card
