Why not buy a small 4K TV instead of a large 4K monitor?

The main three differences between a TV and a Monitor for PC users are the following :

1 - TV has to be put off by remote / button in the majority of TVs (With a minority that takes hundred times the time of monitor to turn off when no signal)

2 - The coloring of a TV is mostly enhanced so a TV screen can hardly become a WYSIWYG screen (What You See Is What You Get - intended for graphics designers)

3 - A high probability that the PC feed will go outside of borders by a 1 or 2 cm(s) from all sides and can hardly be tweaked or reversed (This is actually intended by some manufacturers like Samsung so less people go for the option of sharing just a TV between devices)

The rest are give or take and all to the favor of TV screen .

I have never used a TV as a monitor.

However, the last couple of TVs I've had included:

A PC mode. Presumably optimized for use as a monitor. Maybe more for gaming than regular work flow.

An overscan setting. The default was for some overscan, but it was possible to set the overscan to zero. (Which makes all the frame visible.)

Well tvs are like phones now a days . Every one has its own set of features and differences . So while I tried to highlight the feature risks one cant overcome . You may share the brand names or models of those tvs you came across with no such issues working as a monitor for a reference for people to look them up .

    Samsung KS8000 (2016), LG OLED B7 (2017).

I would not recommend using an OLED as a monitor for risk of burn-in.

The wheel has turned a full circle. My first "computer" was a VZ 200,similar to the Commodore and Sinclair, with the Z80 chip. All of them plugged into the old cathode ray tube tv by RCA plugs and memory storage was a tape recorder.
