Cannot Cast to TV, Questionable casting VIA different software/hardwar

Currently trying to cast my desktop of anything to my Samsung TV.

Details of hardware/software that I have tried with limited success, mostly failure
    Plex
    Playon
    Chrome Browser
    Connect VIA Windows 10
    Steamlink
    Roku (mulitple)

I have been able to cast to roku VIA playon, No success with Plex opening on Chrome or Firefox.
Chrome browser only lets me cast youtube, no desktop mode, and says unavaliable for casting (Even browser)
Connect VIA PC, only gives a few monitors to cast to , that is it.
I have checked TV settings and all seems fine. (as far as I see)
TV lists on other devices on PC. And all devices are on same network.

    Goal.
Trying to bypass Steam and Steamlink to show my desktop on the Samsung TV.

What make and model Samsung TV do you have? does it have VGA or DVI input on the back? If only HDMI, have you tried a DVI-D to HDMI Adapter or cable?

Plex has a app for you to download for Windows and other platforms. If you have a Samsung Smart Tv, there is a Plex app available for download.

I am not looking to broadcast Plex, just trying to get a desktop option.

Trying to avoid having an HDMI cable. TV is about 30 feet from my PC. Trying to get it networked or bluetooth

    TV is a samsung q6.
And that is what it comes up with in windows as well

Currently Supported Samsung TVs for Plex
The app is available on 2016 and newer model year 4K/UHD Samsung sets that are Tizen-based.
No Longer Supported Samsung TVs for Plex
Full HD (720p or 1080p) 2016 and newer model year Samsung sets that are Tizen-based.

Plex will work on TV if I have the app launched and will work with Firefox.

Problem is this will work fine for watching shows or movies.
I need to figure out how to broadcast browser, game , desktop etc .

The current standard for a wireless connection and display on a TV is called Miracast. Miracast is a wireless display standard included in Windows 8.1, Android 4.2, and newer versions of these operating systems. It came out around 2013.

My TV is too old to include Miracast but my Blue-ray player does. I can use either my phone or laptop to project their screens using Wi-Fi to the Blue-ray player which is connected to the old TV via HDMI..

Note both my phone and Blue-ray player have apps called Screen Mirroring to make the connection. My laptop has Windows 10 which has built-in support to Connect to the Blue-ray player's Screen Mirroring app.

Yes I tried miracast, But it says this device doesn't support receiving miracast (ON pc)

Did not see an option for Miracast on the TV.

Also this is all connected on the same network. The PC can see the TV. But is not casting except for youtube( VIA Chrome) or plex

If you select Project wireless on the PC and the TV is in the available list then I suspect it supports Miracast. Here is how I do it:
Note neighbor's TV in available list. His TV is certainly not on my network.

    On Blu-ray player
    Turn on Blu-ray player
It automatically opens menu on TV
    Start Screen Mirroring app

    On Laptop
    Open Notification area
    Select Project
Select Project to a wireless display
A list of available devices appears
    -[TV] Bills TV
    -[BD] J6300
    -[TV] Samsung 7 Series (43)
    -[TV] Samsung 7 Series (43)
    Select [BD] J6300

A few seconds later my Windows desktop appears on my old Samsung TV

    Notes about available devices
    - [TV] Bills TV = TV belonging to my neighbor across the street
    - [BD] J6300 = Blu-ray player
    - [TV] Samsung 7 Series (43) = 1st Samsung 43" 4K TV
    - [TV] Samsung 7 Series (43) = 2nd Samsung 43" 4K TV

I have verified that I can also show my laptops Windows 10 desktop on my Samsung 43" 4K TVs. In this case it was even simpler.

    On Laptop

    Open Notification area
    Select Project
Select Project to a wireless display
A list of available devices appears
    - [TV] Bills TV
    - [BD]J6300
    - [TV] Samsung 7 Series (43)
    - [TV] Samsung 7 Series (43)
Select [TV] Samsung 7 Series (43)

    On TV
A message appears asking if I wanted to accept the connection
    I select Yes

A few seconds later my Windows desktop appears on my new Samsung TV

I do not have wireless on my desktop PC, This is what I am trying to broadcast from.
Network is connected to everything (and set correctly). Miracast is an option if I connect a wireless adapter.
There should be a way to show desktop on the TV. without miracast, since youtube and plex can show on there.

Loaded a wireless network adapter. Some things are working some are not.
Would like to do wired , but will see if this works
