Cannot turn off adaptive brightness, tried everything

    Hello everyone,

Today my computer turned on adaptive brightness setting. F@#$

    So:
    - I do not have this setting under 'Display' in advanced power settings
    - There is no way of turning this off in registry editor, as the folders related to adaptive brightness does not exist
    - I cannot reinstall Intel Control Panel - it says 'An incompatible legacy version of this application is installed on this system [...]' when opened
    - Intel Graphics Command Center does not change anything - Battery saver related settings are all turned off
    - manually disabling adaptive brightness via command in command prompt does not work
    - drivers are up to date - ALL of them
    - I have reverted to previous Windows version, deleted the updates - still nothing

I am losing my patience now. Anybody knows some solutions? I am not very fond of reinstalling the system from scratch.

I'm on Win 10, Razer Blade Advanced 2018.

    Hey Paul,

Yup, I've seen them. None of that works unfortunately.

You can try uninstall Intel gpu drivers with DDU in safe mode, then install this one from Razer.

i am on win10, lenovo p1. had an exactly same annoying issue. couldn't turn off adaptive brightness whatsoever. thank god that your tip helped and managed to pull off the full brightness with the driver from razer. btw, i didn't have to use that uninstaller utility though. uninstalled from the device manager and windows basic one was automatically set instead so no issue.
