Yep, that's the deal. Whatever finagling you do otherwise is NOT gonna change that.
that is why i just let it be and completely forgot about it and fact it triggerd my ocd, at random till i got email saying some posted here, I then tried again to fix that in win 10 1803 build nothing fixed it so i let be before my ocd got triggered more.

There are lot things MS has not fixed, like since Windows 7 permissions for users especial local admins be told you dont have permissions to do that, or delete that which got worse in windows 10 there is GUI glitch in USER setup were it will tell you are administrator but your really not it really has standard user selected and shows administrator.

You could enable the hidden administrator log in to that and look at rights and even that will say it administrator even when it really standard, you would have to select standard apply and then administrator and apply to fix it, untill what ever bug that cause that flips it again. that been around since before windows 10 came, and seeing I never use 8 or 8.1 personal that means it started in win 7

Don't let your OCD kick in again. I just said "to heck with it", and accepted that it ain't gonna work until I build a system that I can make HDMI be my main screen. I'm assembling the parts, and am looking for a mobo that has the ports I need.

    Until then, MS rules!!!

MS has monopoly on all things OS cause almost all stuff runs windows or some verison of it at this point, so they can get away with, unless of coarse it the console sector, in which they can push the agenda like it the only with out massive backlash

There alot changes I dont like in windows 10 that probably isnt gona change, and alot those changes did not make things easier just more complicated and frustrating

Ok I just read through this whole thing!
Guys maybe you can assist me with my issue.

I have a gtx 1080Ti connected to my main monitor with a display port. In the other room I have connected from hdmi to a Yamaha avr then hdmi to my song 4K tv.
So here is my problem and I think it worked for a bit but now itís doimg this. If I turn the avr receiver and tv on then start my pc all is fine I can hit win+p and switch to the second display and boom now I can use just my pc. But! If I turn my pc and start using the main pc monitor and then want to use the tv and turn on the receiver boom my main monitor goes to sleep and the display is not shown on the tv. I have to turn off the receiver to get picture back to my main monitor or unplug the hdmi going to the receiver.

I am going to try and delete the registry stuff and reboot with just the main monitor plugged in and then plug in the second and see if that fixes it. But for some reason it seems like the issue most of you have where hdmi is listed as identity 1 so when I turn the receiver on it thinks it should be 1 or something. Any help! Been searching this for weeks!!!! Please. Ha ha. Thanks.
