    Nvidia driver problem

    Hi

A major computer failure destroyed all my data on C Drive and also on my backup Drives including
    my image files.
Have reinstalled Windows 10 Version 1909, all my programs including latest Nvidia driver.
    My setup is Win10, Samsung 970 M2 SSD, 2x Samsung 860 SSD, 2080ti, 32gig (3200) Ram.

I have tried/researched everything and am still unable to get Nvidia Control Panel to open.
Have uninstalled /reinstalled several times including by safe mode but when I right click on desktop
and select Nvidia Control Panel all I get is :

    NVIDIACorp.NVIDIAControlPanel_56jybvy8sckqj

"Windows cannot access the specific device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Any assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Settings>Apps>Apps and Features. Scroll down till you find the NVidia CP, click Advanced. Try the Repair or Reset. Last resort, Uninstall it and get it again from The Store.

The file name you posted indicates you were running the DCH version of the NVidia driver. When you reinstalled every ting, did you install the DCH driver, or the Standard? Standard driver comes with the CP, DCH does not.

First, you say the event destroyed all your data including backup files and images, well if those drives were connected to the PC they were not a backup.
Second, try downloading then running DDU from safe mode and disconnected from the internet then restart, connect to internet, update your driver using the latest download from Nvidia, when complete it should trigger the control panel download from the store.

Slight timing change to what Pejole 2165 said. Get the driver downloaded first before you do the DDU in safe mode with net disabled. Otherwise, Windows will try to update the driver itself over the net.

DDU link: Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.2.3

run the DDU safe mode, restart in normal mode, install the DCH driver from the download, then reconnect to the net.

Ah, yes, on my system updates have to wait for confirmation so i tend to forget that step when telling other people what to do, thanks.

    Hi f14tomcat and Pejole 2165

I would like to thank you for your assistance. Really appreciated.
    Problem is now fixed.

Ran DDU in safe mode and made sure no Nvidia files left on my computer.
    Then installed
    445.75-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe (not DCH version)

Rebooted computer and now able to access Nvidia Control Panel.

Again many thanks and keep safe in these trying times.

Happy to see you have it fixed. That DDU does a good scrub job.
