Nvidia K5200 No Audio in Win 10 HP z840 Workstation

Just got a K5200 for my LG 27UL650 on my Windows 10 HP z840 workstation. The LG monitor is good for DP up to v 1.4 and the K5200 has two DP v 1.2 outputs. The LG has built in speakers for either DP or HDMI connection. I installed the latest Nvidia drivers including the high definition audio driver. Under Sound settings I set to "LG 4K (NVIDIA High Def Audio)" but no sound. I saw the K5200 had a edge connector marked stereo... am I missing some connection? Any idea why no audo output?

    Thanks in advance

The monitors I've worked with, albeit it simpler, had the same light green audio input port that is on the back of computers, required a separate male-male cable usually included with them. [Just a guess, mine do]

Thanks for your reply. The newer monitors (and graphic cards) for gaming and video editing rely on single connection like HDMI or DisplayPort (DP). The K5200 has its own audio circuitry and driver outputted on its DP line and the LG only has HDMI or DP inputs - no other audio inputs. I bought the LG monitor because it has great built - in speakers (from the DP or HDMI connection).

I'm not clear on what the "stereo connector bracket" does. I presume that it's for analog audio. Robot Check

I have never used audio over DP, so I can't speak from experience. My LG monitor (27UK650-W) appears as a sound device in the control panel, but it has no built-in speakers.

Did you try to configure the speakers in the Sound control panel? (That would require that they be present, and not grayed out.)

Yes, the LG27UL650 speakers appear and show as linked to the Nvidia K5200 High Def Audio Device. When I hit "Test", the soundbar level meter is moving up and down but no sound. I am using the DP v1.4 cable provided by LG. Just weird
