    "
BTW when I looked at the Dell web page (a few times) and typed in the service tag number. The info in the link bellow never showed up."

Tre "service tag" system is a great idea in theory & when it works for you. When it doesn't it's a hindrance. I have found that Dell's website is not fool-proof - there will be other 32 bit Windows 10 drivers for your machine that Dell choose not to show you.

My experience of this kind of problem has normally been when looking for Windows 10 x64 compatible drivers for older machines & Dell chooses not to show you Windows 10 as an option. But when you look at the detail of the drivers offered for earlier Windows versions they are then sometimes shown to have Windows 10 as a supported OS.

It is a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse. I have had it for quite a while now. I have always had good luck with Logitech stuff.

The only 32 bit that the Dell web page showed for this laptop was Win 7 Home. I still have my Win 7 cd with both 32 and 64 bit on the cd. I had to burn a copy of my Win 7 Home cd because the original cd is scratched up and almost non-readable.

    (snip)
May not work, but I'd re-install the drivers.

Unless the manufacturer has deliberately restricted installation to newer Windows versions (such as many Intel graphics drivers that should work in Windows 8/10 but deliberately restricted to Windows 7 to force you upgrade your hardware), all Windows Vista, 7 and 8 drivers should also work in Windows 10 with the same architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). So if you cannot find Windows 10 driver for a device, try the Windows 8 driver or the 7 or at worst case the Vista driver. It should work. You may have to run the setup in compatibility mode and with Administrator rights, but it should work. As a last resort you could try manually updating the driver from Device Manager by browsing to the folder where you have extracted the driver files. However this should not be necessary at your case, just use the latest Windows 8 32-bit driver from Dell or the latest driver from AMD.

I had to go back to Windows generic driver. It solves the problem with windows overall lagging. I never though of using Win 7 or 8 graphics driver on the Dell. It mite even solve the problem with a packaged game that I payed for online and downloaded called Postal 2. Now the whole packaged download played just fine on the Dell with Win 10 Home 32 bit for a bit over 2 years. Now a sub game of Postal 2 called Paradise Lost won't run on the Dell, Win 10. But I have a Sony laptop model PCG-7142L OS Win 7 Home 32 bit. The Sony has 4 gig's of memory and a 500 gig bite HD. Just like the Dell. The only major difference is the OS. Paradise Lost runs on the Sony just fine. There is 1 more problem with the Dell graphics. Sometimes when I am typing, like here in the post, part of the line that I just typed partly disappears and I have to run the cursor back with the arrow key to make the line reappear. Which makes me think that the Dell's onboard graphic chip is about to crap out. I am giving serious though of making the Sony the primary laptop and saving the Dell's memory and HD and scraping out the Dell. I just don't know if the Sony can handle Win 10 Home Pro 32 bit. I would like some input on that please.

BTW I already tried "As a last resort you could try manually updating the driver from Device Manager". No change short of going back to the Windows generic graphic driver.

If it has similar hardware it should handle Windows 10 without ay problem. Check at Sony's support site. Do they have 64-bit drivers? If they do you can install Windows 10 64-bit, otherwise go for 32-bit.

Do you see any hope for the Dell laptop? It was a good laptop until the graphics problems started up.

I am not sure if this applies to your case, but the graphics problem could be because of heating due to insufficient heat dissipation. This means that although you may have cleaned the laptop thoroughly and even replaced the thermal paste, heat would not sufficiently leave the case because of some manufacturing error at the heatsink. I have seen some models that part of the metal heatsink touches the chipset or VGA chip and they have a simple "gum-like" thermal pad between the metal and the chip. This could work OK when new but is not very efficient when old. If you try to remove that and just put some thermal paste is doesn't work properly because the gap between the metal and the chip is too large to cover with just paste. One workaround is to replace the old thermal pad with a small copper coin (such as 0.1€ or 0.2€) that fits perfectly and is a good thermal channel. The chip will be kept much cooler and any temperature-related symptoms will go away. You could open the case and have a look, or just see a disassembly video to see if this applies to you.
