    graphics upgrade


    I have a dell latidude e5520 laptop. can i upgrade the graphics?. it is using intel HD 3000 on board.
    Windows 10 insider
    8 gb ram.

    If the laptop has only onboard video then answer is no but if it has a dedicated graphics card you might be able too

    A quick look at the specs says no. The laptop had no discrete (not onboard) graphic options.

    Even if it had discrete graphics, the odds are poor that an upgrade would exist. The discrete graphics hardware is typically soldered to the motherboard.

    Existence proof, as they say in mathematics.

    I don't know if the (PCI) ExpressCard slot on the Latitude e5520 could be used for that purpose. It has no other potential high bandwith external interfaces that I see in the spec sheet.

    In any event, an external graphics card would mean an external monitor as well, I imagine.

    I doubt that's what "toppergraph" is looking for. The (used) price of the e5520 is roughly $200. The OP isn't trying to squeeze more performance out of a $2000 gaming laptop.
