Was the external monitor working at one point.

Have you considered moving to V1909 of Win 10?

Check your HDMI/VGA lead, use another one. They are often of poor quality.
Check the video socket(s) on the laptop for damage.

On the far right of task bar go to the Notifications/Action centre > Project > and select your option.

The use of DDU may have affected something. I do not use any alternative uninstallers as they gave me problems before. This maybe more likely with Laptop hardware which is rather specific to a manufacturer.

The laptop I'm using now is an Optimus one.
Graphics drivers are left to Windows updates, current drivers for the Intel and Nvidia drivers are about a year old.
The driver updates have either come on one of those 6 monthly(yearly now) Windows 10 version updates or in between times.
No worries, they have always worked, indeed for 6 years.
