The 432.00 driver that I received on my last Win10 clean install was a DCH driver.

I don't know if that matters, but I thought I'd stick with the regular "game ready" drivers.

To do that, I had to:

    Get DDU.

Download the latest Game Ready drivers.

Disable the Network Adapter (to avoid having 432.00 installed again over the Net).

Run DDU. (May hang at the end.)

    Reboot.

Install the nVidia game ready drivers.

    Enable the Network Adapter.

    That ought to do it.

But can i just install Game Ready driver using the clean option in nvidia setup ? Can Game Ready install if DCH type driver is present ?

I'd rather avoid using DDU if i can.

Also, are you 100% sure it's DCH ? I looked in nvidia control panel at system information and it says

    Driver Type - Standard

    This is from nvidia's website

NVIDIA DCH/Standard Display Drivers for Windows 10 FAQ | NVIDIA

"How can I tell which NVIDIA Windows Driver Type is installed on my PC?

To confirm the type of system you have, open the NVIDIA Control Panel -> select “System Information” from the bottom left hand corner -> locate Driver Type. The text that follows will show if the driver type is DCH or Standard. "

I received the 432.00 DCH version for a clean Win10 install.

A later game ready version wouldn't install over it.

I don't know if simply uninstalling the DCH version would be good enough. The nVidia "clean install" option doesn't carry over settings. I doubt that it does a lot more cleaning.

Some recent downloads look like they may contain both DCH and game ready versions. The clarity of the information nVidia provides doesn't seem all that good to me.

I don't know if there are any risks associated with DDU. I have run it without any apparent damage.
