Dell Inspiron 6400 100% cpu due Desktop Window Manager

Recently I've updated my Dell Inspiron 6400 from windows 7 to windows 10. Installation went perfectly but when I use the correct drivers for the mobile intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family video card then 'Desktop Window Manager' take up a lot of CPU when browsing with Chrome or microsoft edge. When I use the standard Windows driver "Microsoft basic display adapter" then everythings works allright but then I'm limited with resolution.

Is there a workaround for this old device to get videocard drivers which aren;t using that much CPU?

First you need to follow the instructions on the last post of this thread : Need Graphics Driver for Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family

Second you should note that this WDDM driver comes stripped from Control Panel and OpenGL hence you need to turn off "Hardware Acceleration" In "Chrome" to function right . (The high CPU use might merely be Chrome's silent crash handling mechanism attempting to recover from failing attempts to access OpenGL libraries)

Third no there were no attempts to do updated/accelerated driver for this particular GPU because for starters Intel never released a 64 bit version of it hence attempting to port it to Windows 10 will entitle that the build must be 32 bit and can only use 2.9 GBs of Rams less shared memory of the GPU making this system highly suffocated .

To note the WDDM driver Microsoft provides can actually work on 64 bit windows but merely because they strip out OpenGL which would render it limited , so no graphics intensive video players , image editors and OpenGL games rendering your laptop a bulky word processor / web browser just , but the virtues of running a 64 bit windows is simply having the ability to upgrade your rams to 4 GBs to feel less suffocated doing those 2 simple tasks .

I just found a 64 bit driver for windows 7 with version 1930 here : Download Mobile 945GM Express Chipset Family Driver for Windows 7 64-bit 15.12.75.4.64.1930 15.12.75.4.64.1930 for Windows - Filehippo.com , it is said to be by intel , this could be a core for you in case you decided to update to windows 64 bit , upgrade your rams and install it , might ease your life a bit .

Sorry, I didnt mentioned it but I have a 32bit version of windows 10 :)

With video card drivers desktop window manager takes a lot of cpu. Without video card drivers, only the basic windows driver, window manager takes less cpu..

I tried disabling hardware acceleration (in regedit) but couldn't notice any difference.
