    GPU (1660ti) No signal


    Good evening,

    (Windows 10 Pro Version 1909)

    I have run into a weird issue with my GPU. Several days ago, my computer froze during idle. I did a hard reset and got a "no signal" message on my monitor. I switched to onboard graphics and those work fine. After a bit of troubleshooting, I uninstalled all drivers with DDU and booted up with my GPU. I had a good display. I reinstalled the Nvidia driver and everything was fine until I restarted. I got the same issue once again.

    I ran DDU once again using onboard graphics, rebooted connected to the GPU and it was fine. Reinstalled the Nvidia driver once more, restarted, and once again got "no signal". Is my MOBO battery dead? It is several years old.

    Hello

    You say you switched to onboard? Did you remove the card at all in any of these processes?
    I have never used DDU but never liked these aftermarket driver removers, sometimes can be abit too powerful.
    Have you got another PCI-e slot you can try?
    Another thing to check is Windows Updates. Check through and see if you can find any system updates that have magically found their way onto your motherboard. Even though the mobo might not support Windows 10 anymore say, old Asus boards have this engine management driver which screws things right up and Windows 10 updates really likes to install this and mess your system up.

    I would start fresh. Remove all the NVidia driver extraction locations, normally C drive root. Clean up any Windows system files. Have a look for any auto update mobo System files and uninstall. They could have a confilct with older hardware.

    Then try reinstalling mother chipset drivers. Disable any onboard and any onboard sound. Try reinstalling graphics card from the original DVD, and extracting the exe launcher to a different location, sometimes can help. Try and avoid 3rd party uninstallers.

    Also check the power cables to the GPU are connected properly.
