    HDMI Splitter

Can I use an HDMI Splitter for dual monitors, or will the same output not put out on 2 devices at the same time?

Just a splitter will give you the same image on both monitors.
If your computer has a second output like a second hdmi, vga or dmi port
you can try hooking up the second monitor to that to get your second display.

There are usb to hdmi listed but I have never tried them.

That's what I was wondering. I do have Dual Monitors, and my main monitor is HDMI, and my second monitor is on a DVI to HDMI adapter to a 32" 720p (I wish it was 1080p).

I'd love that, but my 2nd monitor is actually a TV and it's only 720p. I wish there was a way for me to get 1080p on it, but there isn't.

From my experience now with HDTV's,
If it has a dedicated 15 pin VGA PC input in the back, i would use it. Most HDTV's with a VGA input will be able to utilise Windows power management easily, turning the TV basically into a monitor. If computer in sleep and TV in standby, tap spacebar and PC and TV will both fire up just like the real thing.

So now, the TV's best resolution will ideally be set at 1366x768, no more. I have chart here somewhere explaining each type of max res through different signal inputs.
WXGA 1366x768 or WXGA 1360x768. You can still run a bright 60hz on this. You will like it !

Another shocker is to find out that with using the VGA PC input, at 1366x768, things like YouTube will stream perfectly at their 1080p setting looking crystal clear and full of colour.
If graphics card is AMD, you would also want to set the Pixel Format to RGB PC mode. Brings the best out of the colours with the limited bandwith.

HDMI is ok for TV/PC thats maybe 10-15 ft away but nothing close up, its dissapointing.

VGA all the way. Good luck

1366x768 that sort of resolution was ok in the 1990's!!!

Hehe trust. Its a widescreen resolution. Not like the old 4:3 ratio. If you look at most modern Laptops, thats all they run at, 1366x768 and can handle alot

Sorry just to say that its the native resolution that seems to work best for PC TV combo with a screen size of about 32"

Are you living in some sort of time warp!!! I don't think I've had a laptop with such low resolution in over a decade, I've just checked my 13" surface and that is 2256x1504 and each of my desktops are 2560x1440 and I've not updated monitors in years.

    Hi there
I think your definition of "Modern" must have been when Dinosaurs were still running around

Even a laptop several years old (a Geological age period ago when Technology is discussed) could without problems run full HD at 1920 X 1080. Current laptops can offer 4K UHD !!!!

I think the last laptop I had that had 1366 X 768 as max was an old Sony VAIO Pentium IV laptop that must be at least 15 years old !!! maybe older - just don't know - it still works BTW.

    Cheers
