Green Tinge to LHS of Monitor

My monitor, an HP 23 inch has developed a greenish tinge or cast to the left hand side of the screen. This is not coming from the p c as I've tried connecting my laptop using the VGA socket and the green tinge is still there so it's something to do with the monitor. Is there anything I can do about it or is it a repair shop job which would probably not be economic? Both laptop and p c are running Windows 10 version 1909.

    Hi,
Do you have another monitor you could test with? And, have you recently unattached and then reattached the cable that runs between the pc and monitor?

If the computer behaves the same with another monitor then the problem lies with the graphics card in the PC.

If the computer only exhibits this behavior with your existing monitor then the problem is in the monitor. Since 23" monitors are very cheap it would not be economical to repair it. Buy a new one.

I looked around and surprisingly this answers.microsoft thread has 4 different things you can try including one for a nviada card if you have one.

And I agree with margrave's assessment.

Thanks for your replies. As i said in my post I tried another computer with the monitor and the green tinge was still there. Your replies have more or less persuaded me that the monitor is at fault and that the best thing, if I can't stand the green tinge, is to buy another monitor.
