No nVidia Control panel

Just bought a 1650 Super. Tried to install drivers. Complains not compatible with my version of Windows (1809, 17763.1), Only the DCH drive will install (after booting to safe mode and using DDU to first uninstall the driver that wouldn't install anyway).

Problem with DCH is there is no control panel. This has to be obtained from M$ Store. God I hate Microsoft.

I don't have a store account. Will never have a store account. Store app is not installed on PC. I do not, and will never allow driver updates via Windows update. All PCs connect to a WSUS server for updates and cannot connect online directly to MS Update (group policy).

The only place I can find the driver is the MS Store

Short of returning the video card and going AMD, is there any way to download the control panel without using M$ Store

The game ready driver does not work. Nor does the "Studio" driver. The issue is standard vs DCH. MS Have forced nVidia to only make the control panel available from the store. Standard drivers won't install on this card.

Does anyone know of a location of the drivers outside of the store.

The alternative is to disable the CPL. We can live without it. But I can't find what is starting it in the registry, and there is no group policy for it. nvtray starts at login and then complains it cant find the control panel

Look at the options and remove everything in safe Mode. While it is doing it's job in safe mode pull your internet connection. Before you do any of this first DL a GRD for your GPU. OK when it reboots, leave your internet off and install The GRD. A screen will come up with a warning, click on install anyway. After the install is complete, reconnect to the net and restart your PC. Mine is not from the stare and I am on build 19536.1000

I've already done all that, several times. The DCH version is now the only downloadable version. My card is not compatible with standard drivers.

Is this available on yours? Drivers | GeForce are these DCH?

Yes, I have that driver version. I've tried several versions. The above is the DCH version. It installs fine, but the nVidia Control Panel is not included. That is, by the looks of things, locked down harder than fort knox. Only available on M$ Store.

I created a fake MS Account to download in a VM, but then it says it placed it on my store account for download. None of the PCs have Store installed, it is pre-removed from the Windows install image (and will remain that way), to stop people using the store.

Hence my question, does any one have access to the driver package "outside of the M$ Store"?

I recently did a clean install of Win10 2004 Pro (build 19041.1). The PC was connected to the net. During the installation, Windows Update gave me the DCH version of the nVidia driver 432.00. I couldn't install the normal ("game ready") drivers over that.

I tried uninstalling those. No go. I tried DDU. The 432 drivers were re-installed almost immediately. (I haven't yet done the group policy thing to prevent driver updates.)

My solution was to disable the network adapter in the control panel, run DDU, restart, and install the normal drivers. That worked. They include the control panel. Perhaps something similar would work for you.

I'm a little surprised about your issue with the nVidia control panel. 432 DCH included it.

The DDU solution is pervasive across google. It was one of the first things I tried.

The latest driver seems to be 441.66 for the 1650 Super.

This is a clean install of Windows 10 1809. I won't be moving from that for some time because of component removal issues with 1903 onwards (a long story best left for another day).

Standard drivers which I managed to acquire following some links that discussed the DDU method won;t install. I get the "Not compatible with this version of Windows" error. If I use the DCH version of the drives, which is now the only officially supported driver type, it will install fine, but does not have the NVCPL component.

During the clean install of Windows 10 there is no network access until all hardening and security tweaks are done. The PCs connect to a WSUS server, and until the setupcomplete.cmd file sets that group policy I cannot allow an internet connection. Setupcomplete.cmd also installs applications, adjust services to meet our needs, and sets up backups and a host of other things. Hence no Internet connection.

Perhaps 432 DCH is only applicable to later versions of Windows 10?

Microsoft's track record with patches and drivers is abysmal. But that aside, if I have 10 PCs it makes sense to centralize the update process, hence WSUS.

The driver version that I can download is a game ready DCH version. My only other option is the studio drivers (Also DCH). The link that RoasterMen kindly provided is exactly what I get.
