Heh, I'm no expert either, we can always learn from each other. If everything is fine on 452 for you then you should probably just leave it as is. But if you are curious, or if the issue persists in future drivers, you can check the performance tier through the clock rates or the Bus Interface in GPU-Z at idle, or simply by checking the core clock speeds for your graphics device in other monitoring programs, like HWinfo. The core clocks and bus interface should read lower numbers at idle if everything is at a low performance tier. But this is just an assumption that your cclock speed actually got stucked on installation, obviously I don't know.
I have both of those apps and a few more. Thanks for your time and patience. It's happy on 452.06, I have no need for any other features, so I'll let it rest.

NVCleanstall hasn't detected this version automatically yet, but you can still download the installer and direct NVCleanstall to the file location and install the driver that way to eliminate the contents you don't want to install. I've tested it on my system, and it still works fine.

I don't see the point of the Game Experience software from Nvidia. I deleted it completely before re-install yesterday of 456.55.

Always used Geforce experience on all systems here, doesn't seem to add much more bloat or use more resources, and notifies me when Nvidia drivers update

GFE is quite handy for recording short clips using NVENC, getting notified of new drivers and updating them easy peasy. If you don't use or need anything it offers then it is obviously unecessary to install. It's mostly gaming centric anyway. I compiled a list of its features for anyone that's curious or don't know what it does, and a few things you may need it for:

    • In-Game Overlay - Monitoring metrics for performance stats, FPS, temperature, and latency.
    • One-Click Automatic GPU Tuning - automatic tuner which finds the best overclock settings using an advanced scanning algorithm, and manages your GPU tuning profile for you.
    • Automatic driver notifications & one-click driver updates.
    • Closed beta Key invites for upcoming games and contest sign-ups.
    • Redeem gateway for game codes that's included in some GPU purchases.
    • Shadowplay - record and share gameplay videos and livestreams on YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.
    • Nvidia Highlights - automatically captures key gameplay moments.
    • Ansel - capture professional-grade photographs of your games.
    • Freestyle - Game filter that allows you to apply post-processing filters on your games while you play.
    • Optimise - Automatically configures personalised graphics settings based on your PC’s GPU, CPU, and display.
    • Whisper Mode - Adjusts the frame rate of the game as needed and at the same time configures the graphics settings for the best possible power efficiency for your laptop.

Nvidia forces this now for North American Residents (only) as it is the only way to now Redeem Codes they giveaway with Hardware ....eg my new laptop ....I haven't ever used it previously as I had no need.

the Whole 452.xx series has brought back the DP port random blanking Issue which was present 12-18 months ago , which nobody could work out including Benq, EVGA and the DP Cable Supplier who all replaced Units for me which turned out to be a Driver Issue months later....

so I am back on 451.85 again.... except on the Laptop
