Intel Graphics Driver for 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors.

Updating to Win 10 v1809 caused the loss of multiple display capability on my old laptop, vintage 2012.

    The story so far :-

    Laptop : Samsung NP550P5C-S03UKProcessor: i5-3210M @ 250Ghz Ivy Bridge. Win 10 1809 OS build 17763.55
INTEL HD Graphics 4000Current Driver 10.18.104242 (16/06/2015) is incompatible with Windows 10 and is disabled.

Device Manager gives this message : "The driver for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)"

Latest Intel Driver Compatible with Windows10 April 18 update and Fall Creators Updateis 15.33.47.5059 build date 5 Sep 2018 and is valid for the above processor.
Downloading the .zip file and extracting the graphics driver as outlined in the Intel Manual installation instructions gives a message : "Windows has determined that the best driver for your device is already installed"!!
If the .exe file is downloaded and an update of the driver attempted the message is "this operating system is not supported".The laptop manufacturer has no driver available that is compatible with Windows 10.

Is there a method of replacing the 10.18.10.4242 driver with the recommended 15.33.47.5059 ?

I do not want to revert to 1803 as suggested to some members of the Intel Community, nor do I want to replace my capable laptop which has an NVIDIA GeForce GT650M for use in gaming/Google Earth etc.

Try to remove the .4242 drivers through Device Manager and delete those drivers -> Guide "Uninstalling the Intel Graphics Driver via the Device Manager Method" and then reinstall manually as you did with .zip.

    Hope it solves it! :)
