Windows 10 1903 Nvidia driver issues

Hello,
So three weeks ago my computer decided to install the 1903 update of windows 10 after I turned it on. After the update, I went to Add or remove programs to see if any of my software or drivers had been uninstalled, everything seemed fine until I noticed 2 out of the 3 Nvidia drivers disappeared from my add or remove programs list.

To be more specific the drivers that were previously there before the 1903 update decided to take effect, were the following:

• NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver (version 388.13)
• NVIDIA Graphics Driver (version 388.13)

As of now, The only driver from Nvidia that was under add or remove programs was the HD Audio driver (forgot the current version but it's still there so it looks like its still working). I did check the Nvidia website and it said that the newest version of that driver is version 436.30 (WHQL) which was released on September 10th of 2019 and that was after my computer installed the update on August 29th, 2019.

I don't know if people are still having this issue as of now, whether if the newest driver version is compatible with the 1903 version of windows 10, or if Nvidia is still working on a fix to make it compatible with 1903. On the website, It doesn't say if its compatible with this version of windows that I've mentioned earlier.

I'm just as frustrated as they are and I'm afraid that if I install the newest driver I will have either the same problem as mentioned before or more additional problems even after my problem has been resolved. I don't know whether if I should download the latest driver from the Nvidia website or if I should go into device manager and let it automatically update the driver for me.

In case you're wondering, my GPU is: MSI - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X Video Card. I also don't want to confuse this 1060 with the other Geforce 1060's when it comes to updating and installing a new driver.

If you guys are still having this issue even if its before or after you installed the new driver update could you please let me know? and If you guys could help me out, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help! :)

Have you tried just running Windows Update again? It's possible it may re-install the 388.13 driver for you.

Just out of curiosity, What driver does the device manager say your video card is using right now?

Not really sure what issues or confusions your speaking of in your post. You never actually say what they are.

There should be no issues or reasons not to use newest driver for your card available from Nvidia.

If you install the ones from Nvidia I would uncheck Geforce Experience during the install process.
In my opinion it is just unneeded bloat software. But if you want to use it that's entirely up to you.

I have tried running the Windows update, No driver related update showed except there was one update which was the Security Intelligence update for the Windows defender Anti virus which is built into Windows 10.

On Device manager under "Display Adapters" the driver version I'm using is 23.21.13.8813. The date for this driver version was 10/27/2017. Then the options below it (that are lit up) are Driver Details, Update Driver, Disable Device, and uninstall Device. The only option that is greyed out would be the Roll back Driver.

3D vision I believe is no longer supported by Nvidia in the newest drivers, if you still need it you will need to install a certain older version of the drivers, it says on their site which version.
Do you still have the right-click Nvidia control panel entry?
If you check Display adaptor in device manager which driver does it say it is using?

You don't have an issue, you have a working driver.

Mine shows no Nvidia driver at all in Apps & Features, not done so for a few years.
The 1903 Win 10 version upgrade did a new Nvidia driver install to a version not listed in MS update catalogue or Nvidia catalogues, dated about Mar 19.
Broadly it has been updated about every year. I assume there are differences in hardware that is detected and an appropriate driver delivered.
I do test them and note them. I prefer that than what amounts to being a beta tester for a latest driver.

So I guess my driver is installed and working again and I don't have to worry about it being under "Add or remove programs" like those drivers I've mentioned were? Also, Should I rely more on Device Manager than on Add or remove programs? because I would always check there if my drivers/driver software is there. However, In this new update I guess they were taken off for some reason because Pejole said that the 3D vision driver that I had is no longer supported by Nvidia, not sure if the graphics driver is still supported. I don't know whether or not this is true since one person is telling me.

If you are concerned about your driver install simply make a Macrium Free image of your current system, install the latest drivers from Nvidia's download page (in the drop down boxes choose 10 series for your GPU)
and see what happens. You can always restore your image if you have issues.

Driver updates are not always needed, although I would say you need to read the release notes as some version changes may relate to security or compatibility issues rather than just optimisation for newer games.

• Should I rely more on Device Manager than Add or remove Programs? I thats where I started to worry about those drivers I've mentioned above not being under "Add or Remove Programs"
• Just to be clear on what you were saying on the 3D vision and the graphics driver, so those two will be completely separate in the future which allows me to only update my graphics driver and not both of them?

I'm not having any problems or issues with my graphics driver at the moment, I was concerned as to why the 3D vision driver as well as the Graphics Driver was not in Add or remove programs when the device manager said that the driver was there and is working.
