    Laptop disable igpu

Hi. Have a laptop without an onboard(discrete) video adapter. The question is if I turn off the integrated intel graphics will the laptop run? I need to do this to try to connect an external video card through my mini pcie.

You can't turn it off but you can let it not run by setting the power plan to maximum performance so the dedicated GPU will be used.

Also, most Notebooks/Laptops have an Fn + Fx key combination to toggle between the display or VGA/HDMI port or both at the same time. May be of some use.

You cannot do that. Your Laptop will probably only have video output to HDMI or DisplayPort, or possibly via USB-C.
That is for monitors, not for feeding in to another video card.

To use that HDMI/DP/USB-C output just go the Notification Centre > Project > For 4 options.

Disable the GPU chipset and the machine will not display anything, since built in display starts first.

Disabling the integrated graphics will harm other things as @bro67 mentioned. Integrated graphics are 2 in 1 kind of graphic cards that provide normal desktop graphics and another task can be performing high graphics software, games, etc.

Each computer manufacturer may have different options.
Open the BIOS to see if there are options.

The computer in use for this post is a HP notebook.
It is used as a desktop replacement.
    It has iGPU and dGPU.
Using the BIOS setting, only the dGPU is in use.

These are the iGPU and dGPU
