New Nvidia-driver is old?? Says Windows 10

I have just installed the newest WHQL driver from Nvidia 436.30 from 9/10/2019. After reboot, Windows Update now wants to download and install an older driver from 7/24/2019.
How do I stop this driver"update" to my Nvidia-card without stopping all driverupdates from WU?

Is this true? Are you on any of the Windows insider programs or 1903? And did you use GeForce experience or did you do an in-place update with a download?

I'm Insider slow ring on ver 18362.10019, and I'm not using Geforde experince. I have downloaded the driver from Nvidia.com today.
But I don't get what this has to do about stopping an update from Windows Update?

I just needed to confirm where you installed it from and on what Windows version. Since you are previewing Windows 19H2, Windows Update will try to install a test driver for you that's compatible, even if it's older. If you don't like it you can try this: How to Uninstall and Block Updates and Drivers on Windows 10

Step Three: Prevent a Driver or Update From Being Installed from Windows Update

Just uninstalling drivers or updates won’t prevent them from being installed again. There’s no way to “hide” an update or block updates from within Windows itself, but Microsoft provides a downloadable tool to do this. It’s intended for temporarily hiding buggy or otherwise problematic while they don’t work properly on your system.

You can download the “Show or hide updates” troubleshooter for Windows 10 from Microsoft.

When you run this troubleshooter, it will search for available updates and allow you to “hide” them, preventing Windows from automatically installing them. In the future, you can run this troubleshooter again and unhide the updates when you want to install them.
I haven't tested it myself because I don't run preview builds.

It was my mistake. I updated the driver with the official new, but I forgot to reinstall the Nvidia controlpanel from MS Store. After that, the new driver is accepted fine by Windows

Oh. I thought Nvidia control panel app from the MS store got updated in the driver update process, that's what the Nvidia document says anyway. I'm glad you got it sorted though!

The Nvidia Control Panel App from the MS Store is not the same frontend as the Control Panel installed by the driver. You also need the DCH drivers as the notes say for the Nvidia Control Panel App.

MS Store items are updated separately.
That is what your reference Nvidia document says and provides the link to the MS Store App.
