Windows 10 Night Light Issue (Won't turn off)

    Hi to All,

Been having this annoying issue with the Windows 10 (1903) night light. Ever since I've enabled and use night light before, the setting does not turn off anymore even if I set it!

When I hit the Night light switch to off via settings panel, the toggle will always revert to the enabled state when I return to check. Night light also turns on automatically and cannot be disabled when I return from hibernate. The only solution is a reboot which defeats the purpose of hibernating.

Can anyone shed some help? Here is a GIF of the settings panel.

Problems with night light in 1903 are widely reported- search the forum for 1903 night light, and the internet generally.

I've searched the forum for you: see:
    Night Light not Working
    and see if that helps.

    Latest note:
Known and Resolved issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903
    (Search that for 'night')

Lots of discussion on it here e.g.
    Cumulative Update KB4497935 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.145 - May 29

If you still have problems, disable it and pending a proper fix, download and use e.g. Redshift or perhaps f.lux (free)

Thanks for the info, though I don't know how to disable it completely because it keeps turning back on... and on every.single.hibernate.

How to fix 'Night light' on Windows 10 • Pureinfotech

Registry entries are quoted there- don't know if that will help. From the various reports it seems a messed up feature.. I don't yet run 1903, so perhaps someone with 1903 who's looked into this will comment further.

However, it's something MS is working on.. from something I quoted earlier:

    • Night light functionality is impacted by a bug in this build. We’re working on a fix, and it will be included in an upcoming build

    Thanks!
I found a way to resolve this...running 1909...did a system reboot and was then able to turn off the setting and keep it off!
