    Hmm...

Show this to your IT people at the company.
Seems that they don't want you to be productive - or perhaps they just don't know.

Hope it all works out. Sorry about this.

You are welcome. Can't hurt to try, but don't expect a miracle.

Not expecting a miracle, just some non-blurry graphics on my nice monitor! :)

    GeForce GT 710 | Specifications | GeForce

nVidia claims that the card supports 3840 X 2160 (2160p) at 60 fps over both HDMI and DP. That would imply an HDMI version of 2.0. DP 1.2 would also be adequate.

I believe that your monitor only does HDMI 1.4. I'm no expert on that, but a quick Web search suggests that 1440p (the monitor's native resolution) can be had at 60 fps through an HDMI 1.4 connection. (HDMI 1.4 only supports 2160p at 30 fps, but 2160p has 2.25X as many pixels as 1440p.)

Make sure that your HDMI cable is at least a "high speed" (10.2 Gbps) or one of the newer certified premium ones (18 Gbps), and I know of no reason why it wouldn't work.

I'm running a 28" 2160p monitor at 60 fps through a DP connection. (The monitor is old enough that 2160p is limited to 30 fps over HDMI.) I like it, even though it's a lowly TN monitor (Samsung U28D590D). Some older software (e. g., Photoshop CS6) doesn't adapt well to the resolution; the controls are sharp, but so tiny that they're difficult to read. 1440p on a nominal 32" display ought to be (1.7X) better.

I ordered this one instead, after a chat with someone on the HP boards. Should be fine, I'm hoping:

    GeForce GT 1030 | Specifications | GeForce

It supports HDMI 2.0b, so you should be OK. As long as the motherboard's BIOS can deal with a 10 series card. If it doesn't have the latest BIOS version, updating it (before you add the new graphics card) may be a good idea.

That's a pretty good price for that. I compare to: Low Profile Ready, Low Profile, New, GeForce GT 1030, Desktop Graphics Cards, Video Cards & Video Devices, Components - Newegg.com

Incidentally, I found this link: http://kompeks.com/product/3098/hp-c...5-ssd-hdd.html (Unless you can read Bulgarian, I suggest using the translate feature in Chrome.) It's a PC similar to yours, and sold with a GT1030 installed. That makes me believe that the 1030 will work.

The OP wanted to go HDMI.

Needs a SFF (Small Form Factor) Card for that unit.

Hope the BIOS supports it. Bus bandwidth is only 64-bit.

    Let's see.

    FWIW.

Or, DisplayPort would work too, FWIW

The 1030 card in the OP's link is low profile, suitable for a SFF PC. I hope there's no length issue with the card, but that isn't likely. I must add: its also a fanless card, so its heat sinks may be rather tall.

It has only two outputs: HDMI and DVI-D. (Not DVI-I.) No DP.

The nVidia GT 710 also has a 64 bit memory bus. I'm not sure how important that is for someone not into 3D gaming.

Apparently the HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF can be used with a GT 1030, but it'd be wise to update the BIOS to the latest version before trying the card.

I hope that "Umlaut" will report back on success/failure. If I had to bet, I'd wager that it's a good card choice.
