I want to buy gtx 1660 ti ventus xs 6gb will it bottleneck my cpu i mainly play battlefield 3 and 4 only
i can go upto 4k resolution through nvidia control panel too

there is no such thing as bottle neck , you can check per game as weather your cpu is within minimum requirements or not
for sure you will notice frame rate increase on all games you currently play , however i meant you should google minimum system requirements on games you are interested in playing , see if they list your cpu within their mimimum system requirement or not because maybe you might end up stuck with a certain generation of games .

I don't game much but I believe that the graphics card is usually more significant than the CPU. The 1660ti is much more powerful than a GTX 770, as well as having newer features.
You can never be future proof that you can be sure of. I have been using graphics cards for around 35 years.
The whole system has to be considered, not just one part. Some games make more use of the CPU than the GPU or the other way round.
Higher resolution monitors require greater performance out of a Graphics Card as well.
It does not matter which Graphics Card you buy as it will be out of date in a few years time, and so that will continue on and on...
The next thing will be that MOBO and CPU which at 7+ years is getting quite old, and so it goes on a roundabout of hardware updates.
Some well off people may well get the latest wizzy bang hardware every 2 years, but for most people on limited budgets it is just updating when really necessary.
I would read around the subject of Graphics effects and their use of GPU/CPU. Some of these are barely visible yet make a lot of use of CPU/GPU. In detail it is a lot more than just low/med/high/ultra settings.
The 1660ti is supposed to be similar to an RTX card but without the ray tracing capabilities.
Whether the additional cost of a 2060 Super (the updated version of the 2060) would be worth it over a 1660ti, I can't guess.
I agree that future proofing is mostly a vain hope. The main thing is to avoid paying too much for an old tech card. (The prices may not drop much when newer tech is introduced.)
on a side notice i just found that the i5 2500 cpu supports only 1066 bus rams and that is even rams running on dual channel , with single channeling its half that ! (i know it does support 1333 but they are rare) that might cause hiccups in frame rates in high end games specially running on high resolutions such as 4k , so while you are not suffering from this right now , introducing a high end graphics card that may process more beefy textures all the time , having a gpu with more rams say 8 GBs may sort of render the gpu less reliant on system rams and hence less hiccups but still has to be tested .
so it seems yea , there may be a bottle neck , but its rams bus .

The list doesn't state what frequencies are overclocked, but you're correct about Intel only listing DDR3 1066 and 1333 as supported.
The OP doesn't state what the RAM is clocked at, but I doubt that it's a bottleneck regardless. The RAM frequency usually affects benchmarks rather than applications.
