Switchable graphic card drivers doesn't work

    Hi,

I have HP Pavilion dv6-6b80ec (I was only owner)

    GPU1: Intel HD 3000
    GPU2: AMD Radeon HD 6770M/2GB DDR5
    Access Denied

and recently I bought new SSD and installed it instead of CD-ROM, quick and easy swap, then I decided to install OS on the new SSD and then format the HDD.

Now I´m allready running from newly installed Win10. BUT the radeon GPU doesnt work, I cant "swap" to the AMD card to play games. I have tried to install many versions of Drivers, many versions of UnifL ( Downloads - leshcatlabs.net ) drivers, but nothing worked. Someone suggested it might be because HP drivers do not support Win10 but UnfiL drivers do. And I know for certain it is possible to have Win10 and working card becasue before I moved system to SSD I've had Win10 on HDD. And there is another ODD thing, sometimes after booting up Feature levels aren't showing and AMD card periodically gets load for 4% which I can see in AMD System Monitor but I cant launch games because of missing Levels. And if the levels show up GPU speeds are at 0MHz and 0% load. There is a switchable "button" in BIOS for GPU to run in FIXED or DYNAMIC mode but neither works.

Did I kill my GPU with adding SSD ?

Or is there a solution to this problem which I can't figgure out ?

If there is any need for more screenshots I will provide them ASAP.

I don't know with the modded drivers, but I think you should direct your concern to them as the drivers were modified and are being managed by them and not AMD or Intel.

You should have prepared before starting on this by either making an image of your HDD or system partition as a minimum, and getting the original video and system drivers from HP.

The description of the driver from HP indicates it contains both GPU drivers and the switchable graphics driver. There maybe specific customisations for the HP hardware. The "separate" AMD graphics is on the same MOBO as the rest of the Laptop, thus HP hardware.

Download the Windows 8 video drivers first from HP.

Looks like the Intel iGPU has got a later driver from Windows updates. In which case I would disconnect from the internet then remove that Intel video driver(4459).

Then install the HP driver. Check that is working and the switchable graphics work, do the DXDIAG again, and only then connect back up to the internet to get possible updates from Windows updates.

I would forget about alternative drivers.

That is all I know, as mine is in the other camp with Intel HD 4600 and Nvidia Graphics. This currently appears to have custom drivers from Windows updates, neither of which appear in the Intel or Nvidia lists of drivers. Not even in the MS update catalogue the last time I looked.

As I stated I used AMD , INTEL official drivers and HP official which end at Win8, neither of them helped.

I do have "Backup" in form of RAR files, containing drivers but they didnt work. The HDD was complete mess after quite long time of using it, and at first when I got this computer I didnt know much about data management.

Yes, the HP one containst both but inside their installer it seems it doesnt have anything modified and it is just copy-pasted working versions from AMD and INTEL.

I will try and keep you updated as i will try your approach, but I fear I allready tried that with no sucess.

If you have intel + invidia you are lucky man, as these are working for everyone. Just old AMD sucks... And drivers for my GPU got last update 4yrs ago. Thats same goes for my iGPU 4 years ago and DOESNT support Win10. And drivers directly from HP are 5years old as last thing they support is Win8.
I know solution which wloud be to revert to Win7/8 but the win10 WAS working and I dont want to change to inferior system.
