    GPU/Display problem

I am seeking assistance to resolve an ongoing problem with the functioning of the GPU installed in my PC.
    History
The desktop PC was built in July 2015 and has never ceased to crash in one way or another when drivers installed. Since this time I have used the most updated version of DDU software to uninstall drivers on each occasion. Initially I suspected the problem to be created by windows updates only but later found this not to be the case. Note: Windows updates now manually disabled and blocked.

    Tecknical data

OS: Windows 10 64 bit (Home)

    Mobo: ASUS M5A99FX PRO 2.0
CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0 GHz
    RAM: 1866 DDR3 – 32 GB
    GPU: NVIDA GrForce GTX 750Ti
Default Search engine: Firefox 68.0 (32 Bit)
Drivers; NVIDIA Geforce GTX 750 Ti (recent as listed below)
    Version: 26.21.14.3136 – date 2019-07-03 (431.36) & (416.81)
The following driver appears to have been the best in terms of performance and longevity over the past two weeks:

    NVIDIA Geforce GTX 750 Ti

    Driver Provider: NVIDIA
    Driver Date: 2018-09-05
    Driver Version: 24.21.13.9924
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Compatibility Provider

I've observed dozens of times over the past 3 years that the Nvidia installer sometimes crashes at the end of new driver installation. This produces a BSOD, usually invoking the nvhda64v.sys file (driver installer, I believe) file. After rebooting, however, the new driver is installed and the system ticks on without further problem. I've reported this at least three times to Nvidia, but it still keeps happening occasionally --just yesterday, in fact, as I installed Driver version 431.36.

[PS added 2 mins later] A Quick inspection with NirSoft's BlueScreenView shows the culprit to be the NVidia HDMI Audio Driver (which I can avoid because I don't use HDMI audio on this PC). Wonder if that's been the issue all along?

    Hi,
    DDU is hit and miss
Some have had to restore a system image because of boot issues after
I don't see any real reason to use it

Matter of fact ms has a very old driver 388.?? it will auto install if none is present so you accomplish nothing except ms installing it partly.
Just use the clean install method and uninstall all that you can except the actual display driver from apps and features.

There is a utility to slim nv drivers nvslimmer I believe it is I use it on benchmark mode

There are log collectors used in another forum room.
Please run both V2 and DM and upload results into this thread:

Thank you Ed, Ah-ha so the HDMI audio driver coul be the culprit. I use an HDMI cable and have Realtek Audio on board which I normally select as my default system. So what remains is to delete the NVidia HDMI Audio Driver. Not sure if this can be achieved but will download new Nvidia Driver and attempt to separate and disable/delete the audio driver. I would appreciate your advice as to how to go about this?

    Hi,
Regular custom install you can uncheck nv audio driver.
It's a separate listing in all apps to remove an existing.

As @ThrashZone observes, the custom install option presents the Nvidia HD Audio Driver as a checkbox option. OTOH, you could use NVSlimmer (already linked above) or even a tool like DriverStore Explorer (RAPR.exe) to manually remove that driver (if already installed). As I look at my own install, I see TWO Nvidia audio drivers, to wit:

Personally, I'm going to try uninstalling BOTH of them.

Grab DriverStore Explorer from: Releases . lostindark/DriverStoreExplorer . GitHub. I just checked the release list , and there's a new version out v.0.10.43, so I'm grabbing the new one myself right now.

    Hi ThrashZone
Appologies for my late response, been out of town for a week.
Found and unchecked audio driver in NVidia so here's hoping that my problem is solved.
By the wat, I like your rig.
