    just installed new asus monitor, device manager only showing generic pnp, i have done this before but have no idea why it is not recognized

    In device manager, right click the monitor then Update drivers.

    Hi,
    Not unusual seeing no monitor I've ever used ever came with a driver disk
    Only thing that really matters is in color management/ all profiles/ ICC profiles is the a .icm file there with the monitors name as display ?
    I usually delete it and use sRGB instead looks a lot better usually.

    It should just recognise the monitor you are using.

    For the best colour managed environment I would leave the sRGB.icm - hardware calibration is the way to go. i1Display is good, colormunki is ok....I have used both and they're are much better than the default colour settings....but, colour management is another can of worms......
