cannot find Intel Graphics Control Panel file

I use the Intel Graphics Control Panel, and the ONLY way I can get to it is because it is pinned to the taskbar. I would prefer to have a shortcut for it in the start menu, BUT I cannot figure out where the executable file for it is located. It used to also be located in the control panel, but its not there now. If heaven forbid I were to unpin it from the taskbar I would have no way of loading it!

It's possible that your system may now be running one of the new style DCH drivers for the Intel Graphics. Those drivers obtain the "Intel Graphics Command Center" from the Microsoft Store.

Click on Start and check to see if in your list of all applications you have a "Intel Graphics Command Center" installed.

On my list of apps all I have is the intel hd graphics control panel and if I click on the pinned intel icon on my taskbar it loads the intel hd graphics control panel also. My driver is the latest though, intel 26.20.100.6890 which is DCH, for what that's worth. But I do not have the intel command center (and do not like it anyway), yet do still have the intel hd graphics control panel, but just do not know how to load it other than clicking the taskbar pin.

In settings where it shows default apps, right next to the intel hd graphics control panel entry is the string

URL:intel.gfxcontrolpanel

I'm wondering if I can enter that string somewhere, however neither cmd nor powershell recognize it.

Do microsoft apps not have a traditional .exe file that they load? Can you manually load a built in app from any sort of command prompt or shortcut?

Btw I use classic shell for my start menu so maybe the intel program is easy to start from the "normal" win10 interface? But not for me!

If you have a DCH driver installed, then the problem is not that the control panel is only available via the taskbar - the problem is that it was not removed from the taskbar. It should not be present at all. The DCH drivers replace the control panel with the Command Center. If that is not what you want it may be time to roll back to an older non-DCH driver.

Unfortunately this does not bring up any intel graphics options. Thought I mentioned that in my first post. btw going into settings shows that windows does indeed think that intel graphics control panel is installed.

Good idea, should have thought of that. Task manager details points to the file GfxCentennial.exe, which is within a folder called WindowsApps. Clicking on it yields "you do not have access to this file". Then if I take ownership of it, or of its parent folder, I can now click on it and though no error message appears, nothing else happens. It looks like we've found the file, but still need to figure out how to launch it.

That confirms hsehestedt's suspicion from post #2. You have the new style drive which is a Store app.

I have the old type of drive, so cannot help further. Now we have confirmed you have the DCH type of drivers hsehestedt may have more suggestions.

My new HP laptop has this type of driver. I have no Intel GPU taskbar icon nor one for the Realtek audio. Is there a fix to display the Intel GPU taskbar icon and by right clicking on the desktop?

Find the UWP (App) in the Start Menu, drag and drop on Desktop or on the Task Bar.
The pin to Task Bar and pin to Start (Tile) is normally an option in the right click menu of the Start Menu all programs icons.

Altering the Right click menu of the Desktop, no idea I suppose it would be a Registry edit. I would not bother as the options available are sufficient.
