Troubleshooting my intel HD graphics 530

Everything was working just fine until i installed the new corsair keyboard update software and then my monitor that is hooked up to the intel card stopped working after reboot.

I have since then removed the corsair software and have also reinstalled the Geforce GPU drivers as well so that is all up to date, i also updated windows and also ran a virus scan. I also ran sfc and it did find some issues and fixed them, this was before i updated windows.

The issue now is that windows does not even see my monitor connected to the intel onboard card, divice properties reads that the device (intel) is working properly. I have also uninstalled that and let windows reinstall it, and then updated that as well.

The monitor works but i dont know how to trouble shoot them any further. I check wires and stuff and all that is ok nothing is disconnected or loose. What are some things i can try to further look into this? Thanks :)

    Could you clarify please.

From spec I see you are run 3 monitors. Two I assume are hooked up to GTX960 Extreme. In your opening statement you say monitor hook up to Intel card is not working. Is there a separate card or is the monitor attached to Motherboard I/O ports? Pretty you are referring to integrated but to be sure.

If you right click in a clear area of your desktop and then click "Display Settings" does windows show two screen or three?

If you open device manager and expand monitor section and display adapter section are there any hidden devices? You have to set hidden devices to display using the "View" tab at top of device manager window.

Might also check keyboard section for hidden devices and remove.

I would also use DDU to remove all Intel Graphic drivers and allow them to be re-installed.

    Hi thanks for the reply,

in display settings when i click detect there is a monitor number 3, but it says its hooked up to the geforce card and that is not true, it is hooked up to the default intel integrated io port just as its always been. So two of the monitors are on the geforce and one is on the integrated intel (the one that stopped working)

The only hidden items in device manager are generic monitors under monitors but nothing hidden under display adapters, they are both listed the intel 530 and the gtx 960

so it appears the issue is that the pc thinks that my 3rd monitor is hooked up to the wrong card and im not sure why because i have never moved any cables.

I did find a bunch of KB and mouse hidden stuff in device manager and got rid of them.

I will use that uninstaller and see how that goes... :)

So just for clarification here, sorry i built this dang thing i should know this stuff. Now that i have had a closer look i remember how i set it up.

on the GPU (Geforce) i have one monitor hooked to the displayport, then the primary monitor hooked to the HDMI.
on the motherboard i have the 3rd monitor hooked up to the DVI-D connector. I did not hook it up to the GPU because that DVI is a DVI-I model and i dont have a cable or adapter for that.

When i ran that DDU at first it made me mad because i forgot when i go to safe mode in windows it takes away all my monitors and im stuck looking at blank screens with no way to know whats going on. Then i remembered i had to switch cables to the default port and then i could see the screen, if not for that i would have been screwed totally and would have had to take this thing to the shop. So whoever makes this software needs to maybe put some kind of message that going to safemode you need to be plugged into the default factory port for your monitor or you wont see anything.

I have removed the intel driver and i have the new one already downloaded so ill see what happens later today when i can get back to it.

    Excellent.

It sounds like you don't use an Imaging tool. I strongly recommend you do. Then you do a simple restore from boot media.

    Lots use Macrium Reflect.

Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

This is how I would have gotten out of the Keyboard software install. Call up my most recent backup and restore. Product is Free !!

    Glad things are running again.

Thanks, well i updated to the new intel driver last night and used it all day no problem, then i just woke it up from sleep mode and my monitor is gone again. So i think it has something to do with the new intel update. Im going to repeat the process and ill leave out the intel update and just use the one from 2012 and see what happens.

I removed all the intel stuff, the driver, the software for the driver, and the intel driver monitor sofware as well. Then rebooted and nothing, no monitor 3, but also nothing intel anywhere (devices or otherwize).. Then instead of going to intel for a driver i went to the msi website. They had the original driver that came with my Mboard. I installed that and still nothing. So i gave up for the night, then while i was typing something on the web, about an hour later poof right in front of my eyes the monitor came back to life and working again.

Very strange stuff. Im going to stick with the msi 2016 monitor driver and see what happens. I also reinstalled the original intel chipset from the msi website as well.

    Nice.

Now grab a system image in case you need to restore in the not too distant future.

    Hope it holds for you.
