    Fixing ghost monitor issue

Hi, i have three monitors set up on my PC. Two are through the geforce card and one is via the onboard intel card.

Every day now i constantly have to re-detect my monitors because it always changes to 4 monitors after i wake up the PC from sleep mode. Once i choose detect on the display setup window it goes back to three.

I have the latest drivers for both my geforce and intel i just updated today to be sure.

    What could be causing this?

    Thanks ")

You have to HDMI ports and a Display Port on that motherboard. You will show a 4th monitor or display device. If you have something hooked up to the other HDMi or the Display Port, unplug and see if that fixes it. The same with your GPU. It has multiple display ports and can cause issues with a 4th or more display showing. Use just your GPU card ports.

No it does not mean getting rid of the old one. How are you connecting that old monitor to your computer, if all that it has is the display port and hdmi?

my hp2311x is my main monitor and is hooked to the geforce card HDMI
my HP Compaq LA1905wg is hooked up via the display port to geforce card
my HPw2072a is hook up to the intel onboard card via the DVI port

if i remember correctly the reason i dont hook my 2072 up to the DVI on the geforce card is because its
a DVI-I and my monitor is the old kind of DVI, even tried a converter to but it did not work.

So is this happening because i have monitors hooked up to both the geforce card and the onboard intel card?
