    Program specific auto refresh rate

I'd like to know if it's at all possible to have some form of automation with launching a specific program that will change the monitor's refresh rate to a desired one for a specific app/program

I have my monitor's refresh rate OC'd to 75hz from 60hz but when I'm not playing one specific game I'd like for it be 60hz native and when I launch the game switch to 75hz again.

Hi, if you were to create a simple script file with two commands, one to set the refresh rate, one to launch the appropriate program, you should be able to achieve this.

nircmd (free) offers many options, including setting the refresh rate.
NirCmd - Freeware command-line tool for Windows

Extract from on line help file:

You could do this with, for example, Autohotkey (a free very well supported text scripting language); I would think you can also do this with a bat file.

Assuming this is new to you, you can experiment with nircmd separately from the script file, then get that working in a script file.

Likewise you can experiment separately with launching your desired program within a script file.

To reset the refresh rate, you could, for example, end the script with a simple loop that tests for whether the game is running, and if not, reset the refresh loop and exit the script.

Autohotkey could readily be used to achieve that.
