    New Monitor (TV) Burned Out

Bought a new TV as a second monitor (cheap Cello 40 inch) which worked for a day until the screen went black suddenly. There was smoke coming out of the inside so I assume it was a cooked capacitor?

Would like to replace the TV but want to check it's nothing to do with my hardware. I have a 620w PSU and a RX580 which is also connected to a Samsung 27inch tv. No issues with the Samsung.

    Thanks

Just a defective TV. The HDMI and any voltages present wouldn't hurt the TV and even if it did its the TV's fault, not PC.

Just bad luck, there's nothing computer could do to TV/Monitor to give it smoke effects. If there was anything wrong with it, it wouldn't work at all or with other TV.

Faulty tv. Return it to where you got it and get your money back.
