    HDR and Washed out colors

What's up guys so my new monitor is HDR compatible however whenever I enable HDR in games, it makes them look terrible. The colors are super washed out, the brights are dull and the blacks are boosted to like a grey-ish. I've updated the monitor firmware and installed the latest driver for it. Right now, my normal color settings look more HDR then HDR it's self, lol. I've tried 3 games- BF5, FC5, and AC Odyssey. All with the same results.

Turn on dynamic full range for your GPU

Turn off the HDR crap in Windows:

If a game supports HDR, like Mass Effect Andromeda, it will automatically detect your TV supports it and switches it on, and you can verify it is on in the settings of games that support HDR, usually it will say on or off.

And lastly it will all depend on what kind of HDR your screen supports: HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision and Advanced HDR by Technicolor.

so i have all those settings setup in that way, and only enable HDR in games, still same issues... not sure what HDR my monitor supports, but i remember reading HDR400 which i believe is just the peak brightness.

Ahhh ok, so it's the lowest spec of HDR, but that still does not make sense on why it looks the way it does... Is it just because the monitor can't get that bright?

    I really don't know.

But I always turn off any auto picture quality tuning crap, and personally stay awy from this HDR gimmick stuff.

I prefer my picture quality to look realistic.
Another words, if I watch something local & live, and I look outside, the grass, trees, sky, and building colors need to look the same.
As for HDR, nothing ever looks absolutely black, even at night, it's always a dark shade of grayscale.

Basically, you can use my TV or my monitors as a window.

So Anthem does not look too bad, I actually prefer HDR over SDR in Anthem. I guess it's very game depending with my monitor being only HDR400

Does your monitor have any software for it?
Check the support page for new divers, color calibration software, and the ICC profile istaller.

That reminds me, check in control panel to make sure you have the color profile set for that monitor, and not some Windows default one like sRGB.
Both my monitors have the ICC color profiles set

Yupp I've installed the drivers and icc profiles already. I different notice any change unfortunately.

Did you change any settings on that page, or did you just install and leave it at stuck?
