A suggestion: if the OP bought a card from a vendor on eBay rather than an individual, and the vendor gives you any difficulty about a refund, file a case with eBay.

Years ago, I bought a copy of Photoshop from an eBay storefront. It turned out to be a slickly packaged counterfeit. (The license code was from a keygen, plus there was a small hack that changed the "hosts" file to prevent PS from contacting the activation server.) I called the vendor, who basically hung up on me. After I filed a case with eBay, the vendor called me, and gave a refund. He claimed that they didn't know what they were selling was pirated. I'm fairly confident that was a lie, but I didn't complain further to eBay or Adobe.

Apparently, even dubious eBay store front operators don't want to get dinged too often.
