After Win 10 Clean Install, Can't Install Nvidia Driver - Help!

    Hey guys,

After I clean installed win 10 2 days ago I'm not able to install my Nvidia driver. I get this error:

    NVIDIA Installer cannot continue.
This NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. Please update your driver using GeForce Experience to download the correct version.

I've read that many people are having this issue. How do I fix this??

What revision of Win10 is installed? (If you don't know, run winver.)

What version of the Geforce drivers are you trying to install?

Revision? You mean version. I have the latest 1809 build 17763.437.

As for geforce driver I'm trying to install '425.31-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe'

    What do you suggest?

did you check if both windows and driver are 64 bit version ?
if so i'd recommend installing https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=52685 c++ both 32/64 as most programs became reliant on their libraries lately , drivers included .

Windows will automatically install a DCH version if you're connected to the internet. Either clear out the driver completely - preferably with DDU - without internet and install the standard driver, or grab the DCH version: NVIDIA

Whats the diff between the standard and DCH version? Which do you recommend I install?

Try downloading a fresh copy of the driver.

DCH will be the latest driver format going forward on Windows 10, particularly for OEMs and new pre-built systems. Intel, Realtek and AMD also support UWD drivers. Not sure if there's much of a difference other than how the driver is being pushed and what's being compiled. The DCH version of the Nvidia driver doesn't include the Control panel for example and must be downloaded through the Microsoft Store. I use the standard driver personally, but I don't see any harm in using the DCH Version if your system is compatible.
