    windows 10 DUH

I fixed it with installing new drivers and pressing WINDOWS+P (choose expanded instead of only second screen).

Unfortunately I've already tried that, I even reinstalled windows 7 yesterday and found out it's just the second port on my graphics card that is completely not working after installing windows 10. So I guess windows 10 killed the second dvi port on my graphics card.

Have you tried plugging your 2nd monitor into your internal graphics port?

I see a lot of people having problems with Nvidia graphics cards, but I have AMD and am still having the same problem. I have tried all of the same fixes that everyone else here has tried but nothing. Weird thing is, when I make some changes, the second monitor will come on for a moment, but the color is off and then it goes black again. This is definitely an issue with Windows 10, not the graphics cards or monitors. I know two people that just purchased brand new desktops with Win 10 and they cannot get a second monitor to work either. I am recommending to all I know to not upgrade to Windows 10 and I will be rolling back to 8 by the end of today. What a shame.

It's difficult to know where to assign the blame. I have a GTX970 that I run two monitors off of and a third that I run off my intel graphics. They all run without any problems. I also run an old GTS250 on my test machine and it also runs without any issues. I had to find the correct drivers but that's not unusual. Still curious if the monitors work using the internal graphics?

Not sure what you mean there. My old systems came with a standard VGA input and I installed graphics cards with dual monitor capabilities. This newer PC only came with the graphics card, no standard VGA input, or any other kind for that matter. Is that what you are referring to?

That's what I'm talking about. Most machines have built in intel graphic and come with a couple of ports. Usually these days it's a dvi and an hdmi port built into the mother board. As you mentioned older machines will have a vga port. Most monitors still have a vga port as well, if not adapters are available. My thinking is that if it works using the internal graphics that points to the card. In the past I've deleted the drivers, removed the card, rebooted and then shut back down and reinstalled the card to let it be redetected. That's why having one monitor that works makes it easy to see what's going on. I guess I should have asked, does it work with one monitor, or not at all?

I don't know if you're asking me, but it works with any monitor that's connected to the first port on my graphics card, even if only one monitor is plugged into the second port it doesn't display. I would check if the VGA worked but I don't have access to a VGA cable anymore and I would prefer not to use integrated graphics. The only reason I point at windows 10 being the thing that made my the second port on my graphics card stop working is that it was working perfectly fine since I've had this card for over a year now and it didn't stop working until the day I installed windows 10.

I understand and VGA certainly wouldn't be my first choice either. Am I right that you are using a AMD card or NVidia ? How are you connecting to your second monitor? Have you made sure you have the latest driver for your card?

It should have all my exact specs under the My System Specs drop down box, but I'm using nvidia. I've tried old and new drivers, along with using display driver uninstaller to completely remove them and install one. I'm connecting both my monitors through DVI, I have already tried swapping cables, but both are working.
