It's a good question that I'm not entirely sure on to be honest. I know it didn't work years ago without some hacks because either the dediacted GPU or the iGPU got disabled when making use on one over the other. Not sure how it works today though on Windows 10 or modern mainboards. I mean you could try. In your shoes I would probably get an adapter directly for the RX 570 if there's no usable I/O.

You'll have to use the HDMI or DVI output from your RX 570.

You probably got a faulty adapter.

You have to go into advanced settings after booting into BIOS. The MOBO default setting for the GPU will be NORMAL which means when the discrete card is installed it turns off the onboard graphics. No way to increase the performance of the onboard with the discrete.

On my very old desktop PC's, installing a dedicated graphics card disables the onboard graphics. I cannot use both. I am happily running 3 monitors on my GT 640. though. I've been told some newer motherboards will let you run both, not sure I personally would want to go that route though. I guess this is a YMMV type of deal. You won't know until you actually try it.
