Dual Monitors appear to be causing some gltiches.

When my second monitor is unplugged my non-windows calendar will work although I'd like for it and everything to work without bugs with both monitors plugged in and no funky stuff.

Sometimes, chess will show being open with the second plugged in and turned off, turn it on, chess acts right and shows up where it should.

Desktopcal 2.2.32.4330 worked great for years then somehow an update - Windows 10 Forums

Here is the thread where f14tomcat helped get the calendar working again and revealed the problem is with the dual split monitors.

For some reason, I am curious if my installing and sadly/reluctantly uninstalling 32 bit java RTE so Open Office Grammar Checker would work but cause lots of problems I didn't document and forgot, possibly has anything to do with this bugginess.

Should I go directly to Intel to find assistance with this annoying issue?

    any ideas on this?

all intel software and drivers are updated

Open Office will almost always give me a Java Runtime Error when I start it up and I think that was installing 32 bit Java to make grammar checker work.

It caused a litany of annoying issues do I attempted to uninstall 32 bit java and does anyone know how to verify it has been completely and cleanly uninstalled?

I'm still having conflicts with the dual monitor setup that used to work flawlessly until some point in time.

I run triple displays. When I game I switch to a single display. Windows key + P > PC screen only. Then when I'm done gaming I go back to Extend. + P > Extend
I put shortcuts on my taskbar to do it with one mouse click. For me connected but turned off, is the same as connected but turned on. As far as Windows is concerned anyway. My monitors are still detected even when powered off.

Thanks. Mine has the same connected presenting same as on. I'll dig into seeing if I can do the taskbar shortcut trick as it may help.

One detail of my two monitors is the older one is slightly larger than the other although both with same aspect ratio. No matter what, one consistently displays differently than the other. For example, one consistently will provide a thinner task bar with much smaller icons which I like. I can't seem to make the other one do the same no matter how I try to scale or set its resolution.

The older display for whatever crazy reasons will provide a much better picture than the newer markedly better spec'd one will.

My guess is a bright teenager could put hands on it and likely have it all copacetic in less than 5 minutes and in the meantime, I have a new DV (or DP I forgot which one) to HDMI cord sans pigtail or adapter on the way. Maybe it will help balance things as the two piece cable I have at times gets too warm at the adapter junction and I think it is dying.

The other thing is that I cannot put my desktopcal on the other monitor no matter what now that it is fixed and working again with clean installs of 32 and 64 bit Java in place, and that really annoys me because I want and need it "there". I think the system is mocking me having too much fun and needs taking out behind the woodshed.

    I have two 19 inch 4:3 1280 x 1024 and one 22 inch wide screen 1080P. I game on the wide screen. Mine go 19 - 22 -19.
    "C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /internal" is PC only
    "C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /extend" Is Extend
You just create a shortcut and put what's in the quotation in as the Target.

I know I should be able to make the connections to what you've shared to arrive at the dual display properties pop-up where I can input the Target parameters but, I'm struggling to find perhaps one elusive step to find it?

Could you offer an additional "baby step" or two if it isn't too much trouble?

Right-click on desktop, select New > Shortcut.
Copy/paste alphanumeric's command strings in the offered 'location' box, Click 'Next'.

    Attachment 224664

Enter desired name for shortcut, then 'Finish'

If you want to modify the shortcut icons to reflect the PC Only/Extend differences, note that the dark theme icons in the change icon menu appear invisible in the leftmost column!

Thanks mta3006. I sould have added more info. I put them in my Desktop folder, then just pin them to my start menu and or task bar.

Thanks you two, that made a difference and I suspect when I become more clever the whole setup will make sense to me. I can now move my much needed calendar to the other monitor! Now I have to reverse engineer and enter all the missing entries.
