Intel driver update keeps saying graphics driver update avalable

Intel Driver updater found new driver today, 5058. It installed no problem, logged in reliability checker and version updated in Intel Control Panel. But the updater keeps saying new driver available, but even its saying current version 5058 and update is, again, 5058. Am I the only one getting this problem with the updater? How do I stop it?

By Intel Driver Updater, are you referring to Intel Driver and Support Assistant, or something else?

    John,

If nobody suggests a proper solution, you could consider uninstalling Intel DSA and checking for updates manually every so often at https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ [unless your Intel hardware was supplied as part of your computer in which case you should be able to get updates from the OEM for a period afterwards].

I removed Intel DSA some time ago and now just check for updates when I'm preparing to install a new Windows version.

Intel are switching over to universal drivers (as is Microsoft), I noticed that when I last run the driver update utility it uninstalled the graphics driver & then I had to reboot, then it auto installed the new driver.
    Have you restarted the PC?
Are you rescanning the PC within the updater?

Its claiming the driver is installed. It reboots after the install and yes I have rebooted as well. I uninstalled the driver update utility and rebooted. After reinstalling it it still says the same. Device manager has the right driver version showing but wrong date, 16/08/2018. Re scaning gets the same every time.

It sounds to me as if the problem is in Intel's end. If your display is operating correctly, I would concur with @Try3 that you uninstall Intel's DSA, and just download and install it as needed. I only install, scan, update if necessary, and uninstall the DSA tool about once a month, unless I find out about an update through other means. At least if uninstalled, it can't nag you anymore!
